To operate properly, the following must be taken into consideration when specifying an air motor for an application
Air pressure, psig or bars, at the motor location
The air line pipe size must be sufficient to supply the volume, cfm or m3/min, of air required to operate the motor
For most plant air systems the pressure varies during the day. The motor should be sized according to the minimum air pressure you normally have available.
For reversible air motors, a four-way control valve is recommended to obtain forward and reverse. For one direction of rotation only, a one-way valve may be used.
