Frequently Asked Questions about Torque Tools - If I put an adapter on the torque wrench, do I have to recalculate the torque?
Answer: It depends on what type of adapter you have. If you have a drive size adapter, such as a 1/2" to 3/4" socket adapter, then the torque value remains the same. If you are using a crowfoot adapter, which effectively lengthens the wrench, then use the adapter formula found on the torque facts page. - I have 3 torque wrenches. Should I buy a tester so I can certify the wrench myself?
Answer: Generally speaking, it is not cost effective to purchase calibration equipment for a small number of torque wrenches. - How often should I calibrate my wrench?
Answer: CDI recommends a calibration interval of once a year or every 5000 cycles, whichever comes first. - Why isn't calibration under warranty?
Answer: All CDI products are calibrated before leaving the factory. CDI cannot guarantee the customers' proper use and care of its torque equipment. Therefore, they cannot warranty the calibration of any tool, once it leaves the factory. - Where can I purchase CDI Torque products?

Answer: Contact our authorized Distributor, BlueTools.com, a division of Madden Tool & Supply, Inc. Email: http://tinymce.moxiecode.cp/mce_temp_url. Phone: 1-336-282-2020. Fax: 1-336-545-5822. - Can I use a "cheater bar" on a torque wrench?
Answer: You should never, under any circumstances, use a "cheater bar" with a torque wrench. Not only is the accuracy adversely affected, but also serious bodily injury may result. - Is the torque wrench accuracy affected if I use an extension?
Answer: It depends on what type of extension you are using. If you are using an extension that is vertical to the drive, it has no effect on the accuracy. If you are using an extension that is horizontal to the drive, such as a crowfoot, making the effective length longer, then you need to use an Adapter Torque Formula to calculate the effect.
